As mentioned before, I've been feeling the baby moving for about 2 weeks now. It's such a sweet feeling, and I'm starting to kind of tell when I can expect movement - usually always in the evening, usually always after I eat something, and usually in my bath (which is after dinner, so makes sense). I say 'usually' cause I started to expect movement around those times and sometimes there just isn't any. Or I'm not feeling it.
The one caveat with the movement is that, while I can definitely feel it internally, I've only felt it maybe once or twice externally, with my hand on my belly. I think the movements are still pretty soft.
Anyway, last night (at 18 weeks + 1 day) I was in my bath and could feel the baby moving around (and when I say movement, it's usually a sudden, short sensation. Not like, rolling or shifting around). I started watching my belly, and the baby must've given a pretty good kick cause I totally saw my stomach move from the outside! It was so neat to see. I only saw it once, but there's just something surreal about seeing a quarter-sized spot on your belly twitch suddenly!

Size of the baby? An onion - 5.1 inches
Maternity Clothes? Still wearing my Belly Band, I did get my maternity pants from the Gap and at first I thought I liked them, but then I decided that I wasn't so sure...they get stretchy and baggy after wearing them for an hour, and they feel baggy in weird areas. All normal shirts, though. One thing I've decided I will not wear are those shirts with the ruched sides - I think those ONLY look cute when you're 35 weeks pregnant. Otherwise, they just look too big for you.
Stretch marks? Nope
Weight? No clue. I have an appointment on Thursday so I'll find out then.
Sleep? It's okay. Still sleeping a lot on my side/belly, but I'm waking up more often cause it's uncomfortable.
Best Moment of the Week? Nothing in particular, although feeling the baby move more frequently is SO sweet.
Movement? Yes, feeling it more and more! I'm still surprised it happened so early but I was telling a friend that the Lord must've known that I needed to feel it soon with all my worrying! Sometimes it will feel like little pushes or kicks, and sometimes it will be a fairly strong little movement. Makes me wonder what he/she is doing in there!
Symptoms? Honestly, not too much. My nose is pretty stuff all the time, still somewhat tired a lot of the time, but otherwise, not too much. The 2nd trimester really is the "golden" time of pregnancy cause you feel so much better!
Cravings? Still drinking lots of orange juice. McDonald's Coke. This week I had an insane craving for sweets so I drove 15 minutes into town from work and bought a Coke, a package of mini-donuts, 2 Dove candy bars and a bag of peanut butter M&M's. I didn't eat it all at once, thank God, but it seriously hit the spot!
Gender? Find out in 2 weeks!
What do I miss? I miss shopping for things that are familiar to me - like going to the mall and finding clothes that I just know I will like or will fit. Everything is so different now with clothing!
What I'm looking forward to? Looking forward to my 20 week ultrasound, my doctor appointment this week, looking forward to planning the shower and starting to think about baby purchases!

So...I didn't do my 15 week update, mainly because I had Brad take my picture for the 15 week update and I didn't like it at all, so I figured I would take my own later...and then I never did. And now I'm 16 weeks!
So, here's week 15 and 16 pics:
So, here's week 15 and 16 pics:
|15 Weeks - Also the picture that Brad took that I didn't care for...|
How far along? 16 weeks, 5 days
Size of the baby? An avocado - almost 5 inches
Maternity Clothes? Still using the Belly Band, but got my 1st pair of maternity jeans in the mail yesterday! I got the Gap Demi Panel Always Skinny jeans. They're cute, I like them. I only ordered the 1 pair (well, I ordered 2 but in different sizes and the bigger ones were too big), and I wore them last night and they got really stretched out, which I HATE. Being that it's almost April, which means the weather is starting to warm up, I don't want to buy too many pairs of jeans.
Stretch marks? Nope...fingers crossed it stays that way!
Weight? Oh man. The question I've been dreading. I went to the doctor a week and a half ago (at 15 weeks 2 days) and they told me I had gained EIGHT POUNDS. I almost fell off the scale. The only reason I am not freaking out over this is because in my 1st trimester I lost about 5 pounds, so the way I'm choosing to see it is that I'm at a net gain of 3 lbs ;)
Sleep? It's not been too bad. I don't sleep as soundly as I once remember doing, and I'm not sure why. I'm not getting up as much to use the bathroom, so that's nice.
Best Moment of the Week? Feeling movement! Felt it for the first time this last Tuesday or Wednesday, which was very surprising cause I was only a little over 16 weeks. I emailed a girlfriend right away and told her what I had felt and she was like, "YES! THAT'S IT!!" It basically felt like a little nudge against the inside of my belly, way down low above my pelvic bone. Then the next couple times it felt like little muscle spasms or twitches. I don't feel it very often, maybe a couple times a day? It's such a sweet feeling.
Oh - other good moment at 15 weeks was having a great doctor's appointment and scheduling our 20 week ultrasound!
Movement? See above!
Symptoms? Before I had said there wasn't many symptoms but I'm starting to experience more now. I'm definitely out of breath a lot more, today I went fishing with Brad and hiking back thru the woods in waders tuckered me out. I have had a fair amount of headaches, and what's been strange to me is I've been pretty tired lately.
Cravings? Orange juice. Cystal Light Pure Lemonade mixed w/ Club Soda. Sushi. Chips and Salsa.
Gender? We'll find out in 3 and 1/2 weeks!
What do I miss? I'm missing beer, strangely enough. I'll have a sip of Brad's just for the flavor. Missing being able to shop for spring/summer clothes that I would typically wear.
What I'm looking forward to? I'm looking forward to the 20 week ultrasound. I'm a little nervous for it, just cause I'm a fearful person that worries I'll get bad news. However, I know that's not common at all, so I'm trying to be excited for getting the good news! Also looking forward to being able to plan for things a little more concretely - names, gear, nursery, etc. I'm getting so excited for those things!

|Sorry for the dirty mirror...it's all I've got til I replace the one that broke last week!|
How far along? 14 weeks, 5 days
Size of the baby? A lemon - 3 1/2 inches
Maternity Clothes? Still just using the Belly Band, and I'm sick of it. Going to the Cities this weekend to get some maternity pants!
Stretch marks? None yet. I've been bathing in Palmer's Cocoa Butter Oil and then moisturizing with the Cocoa Butter lotion.
Weight? Still don't know what I've gained, I'll find out this week when I go to the doctor. I'm guessing about 4-5 lbs. Yes, really. That's based on my scale at home.
Sleep? It's been really good lately. I'm going to the bathroom before I go to bed, and usually one trip early in the morning. Feeling a little more uncomfortable on my belly, but it's not anything terrible.
Best Moment of the Week? I think realizing that I feel so much better these days! The 1st trimester is over and I seriously feel like a different person.
Movement? Not yet!
Symptoms? Honestly, there's not too much these days. Like I mentioned, I'm feeling much better - I have so much more energy! I get occasional headaches, and I swear, my nose is constantly stuffed up. I've also noticed the "growing pains" - my belly just aches a little bit by the end of the day.
Cravings? Potatoes, and salad with my favorite lime dressing. I ate 3 HUGE bowls of it in one sitting this week!
Gender? Not yet...at our 20 week ultrasound! Which is a little over a month away now!
What do I miss? I always miss the wine. I miss eating lunch meat whenever I want (I do eat it but I don't eat it too often).
What I'm looking forward to? I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday, and even though I'm always a little nervous to go, I do look forward to the updates. I'm hoping I'll get to schedule our 20 week ultrasound at it! I'm also looking forward to my belly growing a little bit more. I can see the growth when I look at pictures, but I'm just ready for the little "pop" to occur! Right now I just feel chubby unless I'm wearing leggings and a tight shirt.
